First Position Feet

In classical ballet, fifth position feet turned out so that the heel of the front foot touches the toe of the back foot. The feet should form two parallel lines. The hips are rotated outwards in equal amounts.

First Position Arms

In ballet, the first position of the arms is when both arms are held out in front of the body. The elbows are slightly bent, with the fingers curved below the navel. The arms maintain an oval shape, sloping down a little from the shoulders. The palms of the hands face the dancer. The elbows are supported and pointing to the sides of the room.
